Ran out of values in format symbols list

We encounter this error in Microsoft Dynamics GP Report Writer. I experienced the same recently and here is the cause and resolution for the error. Cause If we have fields dragged to the far right of the report layout or presence of any unusual characters like #,*,+ in text fields of the layout, we may get this error.

We have just had the same error but we’ve made no changes to the report. It ran fine on Tuesday but not today (Friday) I will look at the report but cannot understand why it would have done this…it printed the first full page and when we found another report that gave us the same information (a different AP Aging TB) but it stopped and printed nothing on the second page…no header, no finishing the vendor it was in the middle of, nor did it do anything on the next and final page. If it were due to the fields not being aligned correctly should it have started at all?
