Debugging Microsoft Dynamics GP Word Templates Revisited
Couple days aback, I went through an issue were Microsoft Word templates were being rendered to an html file, causing Internet Explorer to launch instead – see Word Templates rendering report in Internet Explorer . In troubleshooting this problem, I engaged my good friend Rob Wagner over at Microsoft, who showed me a few more tricks for troubleshooting issues around Word Templates and template rendering.

Before Yearend Closing Check – Retained Earnings Exception Report
It has been long time since I been an active online community member as before, as the day has only 24 hours and is really not enough for 45 customers with many GP issues, offline contribution, online community activities, my masters , family, and fun time!!! However, I am doing my best to recover and follow up with all these! As a start, I wanted to share one thing to be included in your checks before closing your financial year, if you have several currencies linked to your profit and loss accounts, you will need to make sure that all these currencies are linked to the retained earnings account, so the multicurrency management module can work this with no issues. If you forgot to do so, the system will generate the accounts along with the currencies not linked to the Retained Earnings in a report called “Retained Earnings Exception Report” and the report will be printed automatically. Nothing to be done from your side at this point as the system will affect the retained earnings with the amounts, but you need to validate your profit/loss balance and make sure that the RE account affected correctly

Management Reporter: Server Error in Application "MANAGEMENT REPORTER"

Microsoft Dynamics GP Add-In for Microsoft Word not enabling despite several attempts to install
Just recently, I ran into a situation with the Microsoft Dynamics GP Add-In for Microsoft Word where, after following all the installation steps and on-screen prompts, I could not get the Microsoft Dynamics GP Templates section to show up under the Developer’s ribbon in Microsoft Word 2010. Microsoft Dynamics GP Add-In for Microsoft Word properly registered in Microsoft Word Microsoft Dynamics GP Add-In for Microsoft Word not registered in Microsoft Word The customer was also running a 32-bit version of Microsoft Office, clearly indicating that the issue was not related to the version of the Office product being ran - Word Templates are still not fully compatible with 64-bit Office platforms. A first troubleshooting step under these circumstances is to make sure that the Microsoft Dynamics GP Add-In for Microsoft Word is enabled under the COM Add-Ins window in Microsoft Word.

Microsoft Dynamics GP Hyper-V Databases
Shortly, the image set for the Microsoft Dynamics GP Hyper-V image will be released. In the past, this has typically meant that we have shipped with just a couple of databases – mainly “TWO” and “CES”. With this image, we are releasing it with many more databases than past releases. These databases are included “as is” and while I cannot say that you’ll get a use out of all of them, I’m hoping that you’ll be able to build more industry-based focused demos with at least one of them

Terminal Server: Dynamics.exe encountered a problem and needed to close
Just recently I assisted a partner with an issue they were having on a Terminal Server environment, after upgrading from Microsoft Dynamics GP 9.0 to Microsoft Dynamics GP 2010. Upon launching Microsoft Dynamics GP, an end-user was receiving the error shown below: Dynamics.exe Error Clicking on the hyperlink for the error detail showed the following: Error Signature I have faced a number of issues of this type in the past and typically they are all narrowed down to corrupt forms and/or reports dictionaries – both Dynamics and third-parties.
